Jelly Flan - Ladybug Kitchen

Jelly flan is similar to custard or leche flan "milk flan". If you are on a tight budget this is a cheap alternative like leche flan that has a milky, sweet taste and a spongy, gelatin-like texture. Jelly flan looks similar and it is easier to cook. You do not need an oven or steamer to cook it.

Jelly flan, also known as leche flan or caramel custard, is a dessert that originated in Spain and has since become popular in many parts of the world, including the Philippines. It is a sweet, creamy custard made with eggs, milk, and sugar, flavored with vanilla extract, and baked in a caramel-coated mold.

To make jelly flan, you will need to make a caramel sauce by melting sugar in a saucepan until it turns golden brown. The caramel is then poured into a mold and allowed to cool and harden. Next, a mixture of egg yolks, condensed milk, evaporated milk, gelatin, and vanilla extract is prepared and poured over the hardened caramel. Let it harden and cool at room temperature until the custard sets. No need for baking.

Once the custard is set, it is chilled in the refrigerator for several hours before being inverted onto a serving dish. The hardened caramel will then melt and coat the custard, creating a sweet and creamy dessert that is perfect for any occasion.
Jelly flan is often served as a dessert after a meal or as a sweet treat for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, and holidays. It is a delicious and decadent dessert that is sure to please anyone with a sweet tooth.

Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs and egg yolk until smooth.

7. Pour the caramel into a cake pan or flan mold, and tilt the pan to coat the bottom and sides evenly.

8. Pour the custard mixture into the caramel-coated pan and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the flan is fully set.

9. To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan, place a serving plate on top of the flan, and invert it onto the plate. The caramel sauce will flow over the top and sides of the flan, creating a beautiful presentation.
